Its 2017 and we are still getting bombarded with skinny teas, lose 7lbs in 7 day starvation diets, meal replacement shakes and juice cleanses. The celeb world are endorsing things they don’t use and bringing out plans with no training. Do this, cut out that, don’t do that …. JUST STOP

You do NOT need to go on a detox after an indulgent holiday or RESTRICT anything or CUT anything out as your body has a great detox system of its own … the liver. Yes I do agree after a pretty indulgent few days you probably should give your body a rest from that amount of rich food and drink but drastic diets aren’t the way forward. Instead just think about all the foods that nourish your body and fuel it well and eat them.

If you are feeling a bit sluggish, bloated, want to get back into your healthy lifestyle then there are only 4 simple tips you need to follow:

1/ Nourish you body – get those fruit and veggies back into the diet, lean protein, healthy fats and whole food carbs (yes you heard me carbs – don’t cut them out as they are energy our body needs). Eat for health so you want to be having foods that will provide your body with all the nutrients it needs. If you are wanting to lose a little bit of fat then all you need to do is just portion control and be a bit more mindful.

2/ Move more – simple really but just get moving whether that is in a gym, at home, taking a class, going for a walk/swim/cycle. Whatever you enjoy and whatever works for your goal do it. Also remember to ease yourself into it and make it part of your daily routine again.

3/ Drink more water – keep yourself hydrated, more alert, improve skin and flush away any toxins. These can be flavoured,green/fruit teas etc just aim for 2-3L a day.

4/ Sleep and rest – make sure you are getting enough sleep in order to properly recover making it easier to function the next day 🙂

And that is it really – see not complicated at all. One final note I want to leave you with and something I tell all my clients – make little changes in order to make the big progress. Don’t give yourself too much and set yourself up for failure instead break it down and focus on one thing a week and eventually it will all fall into place.

Thanks, Vicki xx
