Wow the big day is nearly here we have 2 months to go ! I mean how has it come so fast?!
I’m not going to lie it is a little bit stressful now as all the final plans are coming into place and we have to get things sent off before Christmas BUT it still feels amazing that it is going to be happening very soon. With that in mind it is time to move the focus to myself and start the bridal preparations. For me this is not about dieting, this isn’t about killing myself in the gym and it isn’t about running myself into the ground with all of the stress of it. For me the main thing is I want to feel my best on the day, the healthiest happiest version of me. With the main focus being on health both physical and mental rather than what I weigh. Which is why for the next 2 months I am making more of a conscious effort to focus on how I feel.
MOVE
Fitness is a big part of my life, I love to move my body and I love the feeling of being fit and strong. I will be continuing to train up until the week of my wedding and I will be getting help from my friend a fellow PT. She will be creating my training plans because in all honesty I don’t want to, I don’t really have the time and I want that extra accountability and motivation from someone else. Like I said I love to move but sometimes I just need a little help getting there. I will also be supplementing these sessions with classes to switch it up and challenge my body.
NOURISH
I want to give my body all of the nutrients it deserves, no diet just more conscious choices. I suffer from IBS as well and the last thing I want is a flare up so I need to be more aware of what I am eating in order to make sure this doesn’t happen. There will be no restriction if I want something I will have it but more moderation in the next 2 months. It also helps with my energy, skin and general mood when I have a well balanced diet all things I want to be in tip top condition come February.
I have also started a little bit more of a skincare routine to nourish my skin for the big day, nothing drastic just more hydration and actually remembering to do it every am and pm. Something I intend to continue post wedding.
SLOW DOWN
As I mentioned earlier there is a little bit of stress creeping into the planning and I want to keep this to the minimum. Now is the time to delegate tasks when needed, one of the biggest things I have noticed is that I like to be in control. I like to know the plan and see it through to the end which makes it difficult for me to know when to let someone else help. But rather than run myself into the ground doing everything I’m sure I can find someone to help me :). Obviously we are now in full Christmas mode but one thing I am making sure I do is say no a little more, I don’t need to go to every event and I can have more nights in that nights out. Now is the time to get plenty of sleep. I want to take more time of a night to unwind and relax as well as take lie ins as and when I can.
Stop overthinking and worrying about every little detail, it just isn’t worth it as I know all will be amazing on the day.
Most of all I want to just look after myself and enjoy the whole experience so that on the day I am calm, content, healthy, happy and ready to start my new adventure.
