I can’t believe we are here already, seems like only yesterday we were announcing our engagement and now we are less than a year away ! This time next year I will officially be Mrs Victoria Smith … so weird ha. So what have we got ticked off our list so far without trying to give too much away …
The Dress: Yes in case you missed it I have indeed said Yes to the Dress and it is beautiful ! I can’t wait to wear it and for everyone else to see it because I think it may surprise some people. I wrote a blog post about it here.
My Bridesmaids Dresses: I know this may seem early but there are a couple of reasons as to why we have them already. 1 is the fact I am getting married in Winter so I didn’t want to go shopping for dresses when it was the Spring/Summer collection out and then it would be a bit too late and stress me out to much. The second reason is the fact my sister is pregnant (wooop I’m going to be an Auntie very excited ) so we wanted to get the dresses now before she started to show too much as the baby will be 6 months by the time our wedding comes along. Brides to be on a budget I would highly recommend checking out ASOS for your bridesmaids dresses as they have an amazing affordable collection.
Photographer: Our photographer is David Goodier as recommended by our venue. We loved his pictures and after speaking to him really liked him the obvious passion he has for his work. It is also important for us to work with someone that knows the venue because we are getting married in winter … in the lake district … so it is bound to rain ha.
Videographer: This is something I’m really excited about because I love wedding videos, they capture moments Elliot and I won’t see as well as being completely candid. Photos are incredible but there is just something about videos. Now in all honesty I wasn’t sure we were going to be able to have one. But then by a chance conversation at the Weblog Christmas get together with Sean I can now say I have a videographer 🙂 I think the main thing I like about this apart from the fact that he is brilliant is the fact I know him which I think adds to the personal touch we are creating with our wedding.
Make Up: Following on from the personal touch my make up is being done by no other than my girl Kat Horrocks who alongside being a complete girl boss is a a very good MUA. Feeling grateful that she said yes even though she is also a guest.
Invites: Another task another incredible friend who is helping me! My friend Jasmine is creating our invites and after the first draft lot she has done exactly what I asked for so I can’t wait to see the final ones.
So yeh I think we are pretty much well on the way with what we need to do. We have officially registered our intent to marry as well so its in the legal system now. As we are doing quite a lot ourselves in terms of flowers and decorations its just a case of doing as we go along. Now its time to look forward to my Hen DO !!
I am absolutely loving planning this wedding, I feel very on top of it and will be sad when it is all over. Will just have to start planning the next big adventure.
