Ladies 🙂 time for an updated version

I want to share with you my top tips to being confident in the weights area so you can truly embrace it and get those workouts done. You can have all the good intentions but sometimes it just takes a little extra to keep you coming back.

Being with someone can be a great thing for your confidence as well as your motivation. Safety in numbers and someone to push you a bit further. Whether you go with someone, meet up with fellow members when you are there or get a PT it can be a good way to start.

Time of day is key as every gym will have it’s peak times probably after work evening time will be the busiest. So if you can aim to go when its quieter there will be less people to worry about.

Go in with a plan, carry it out and don’t let anyone put you off. It’s a lot easier to feel great when you know what you are doing. It is also acts as safety net because you know exactly where you want to go and what to do to. On that note research the movements you are going to do so that you fully understand them and if you don’t just check them out on your phone. No one will know 🙂

Get those headphones in and get some tunes blasting. One it will help power you through your workout and two it blocks out the outside world. I just don’t advise singing along with the tracks 😉

Find the exercises that you enjoy and start with them. As you like these you will do with them with confidence easing yourself in ready to attack the ones you are less familiar with. By this time you will already be in the zone and not fazed by what is around you.

Dress for confidence – I know its cliche but when you dress in clothes you feel good in you are more likely to get on with the task in hand rather than fiddling with your clothes. Get clothes that fit well, flatter your figure and you actually like to wear. Don’t wear super tight tops if you are forever pulling at that them. Sometimes getting the cheaper leggings isn’t always the best option when they become saggy / see through. I’m not saying you need to break the bank but investing in some nice decent active wear is always a good call like you would with your regular wardrobe.

And finally … SMILE. It will instantly make you feel better I promise 🙂
